New Teachers This Term

A warm welcome to our new teachers!

Loughton Music Academy is pleased to welcome the following teachers to the LMAT family this term:

josh                    larry

Josh Green has come full circle at LMAT after he started as a guitar student with us in 2008 and completed his Grade 8 in 2013. Josh gained a First class Honours Music degree and with 7 years teaching experience, we are thrilled to have him join our team :)

Larry Catungal has 10 years of music teaching experience. He has achieved ABRSM Grade 8 success in piano, singing, organ, and music theory, he holds a BA Hons in Music and an MMus in Ethnomusicology from SOAS (‘The School of Oriental and African Studies’), University of London.

Excellent Exam Results

The results are in!

LMAT has seen an overwhelming number of exam students in all instruments gain high passes with Merits and Distinction results last year. - Well done everyone, we are very proud of you all!

All of our Singing students gained high merits and distinctions last term, including Grade 6 students Imogen Stephens, Scott Apperly and Ella Coughlan (attaining a superb 94%) and Eva Randall who gained a high distinction for her Grade 8.

Jake Omer who started drum lessons at LMAT aged 6, gained his Grade 8 a week after his 13th birthday!


Nessya Mireku (pictured above) started music lessons in Autumn 2016 as beginner. She gained both Gr1 piano and Gr1 Theory with distinction, as well as Gr2 singing in Summer 2017. Impressively, she has just received a high merit in Grade 3 piano in Autumn 2017 and is now entered to take her Grade 4 exam this Spring 2018!

Daniel Sawa, (pictured below) who has had online piano lessons at LMA for 3 years, is now working towards his Grade 4 after gaining a merit at Grade 3 last term. He has breezed through his Gr1 Violin with Distinction having started online lessons just over a year ago, gaining a brilliant 138 points!
